The National Special Education Centre, in collaboration with the Lahore Arts Council, arranged the 2nd fund-raising for hearing-impaired children at Alhamra on Friday. The objective of the event was to present music and rhythm of life to hearing-impaired children and those suffering from all types of hearing loss. The show opened with the national anthem by renowned guitarist Sajjad Tafu, followed by performance by 20 children from the National Special Education Centre and Shalimar Special Education Centre on the "Afreen Afreen" song. Sherbano, Ayesha Hamid. Hajira, Mariyam Yameen and Zainab were among those who performed on this occasion. On this occasion, veteran actor Masood Akhtar said, “I can feel the problems they face due to hearing impairment because I have worked with such children. I will try my level best to provide  them maximum recourses and build a hospital for them,” he said. Shalimar Special Education Centre General Secretary Ali Bhatti said,“ I have been teaching these special children for 20 years. It is very rare that DEAF children get a chance to work together with professional musicians. It is our dilemma that our media channels have lot of game shows for the audiance, but nothing for such children, “he said. Organizer of the event Mueed Farrukh said, “Our aim is to carry hard-of hearing and deaf society togather on one platform to make amazing music and vibrations. Music is a universal language and will continue to be fra long time,” he said.Sajjad Tafu, “We have organized this music event for special children. I have obesrved that deafpeople are able to sense vibrations in the same part of the brain that others use for hearing,” he said.
